This Technical Service Bulletin describes the verification and resolution steps for the lubricating oil fill and top off procedures for certain ISL G, L9 and L9N engines which may not be followed in some applications, causing the engine to be overfilled with lubricating oil due to failure to allow sufficient time for the lubricating oil to drain back before checking or refilling, resulting in lubricating oil slosh, connecting rod dipping, excessive soot or soot plugging of the EGR cooler or fault codes 2961, 2962, 3361, 3382, 3383 or 7232 being triggered.
